Welcome to Family Restaurant, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025 – where flavors and a homely atmosphere have met since 1995!
Our restaurant in Dunapataj has a history dating back to 1995 when my parents, László Horváth and Mrs. László Horváth, made their dream come true by opening the doors of our establishment on the picturesque shores of Lake Szelid. For 30 years now, the same family and its descendants have ensured that our guests can enjoy our lovingly prepared dishes in a cozy and welcoming environment.
We are passionate about homemade and international dishes made from fresh ingredients, free from artificial flavor enhancers. Season after season, we strive to satisfy the tastes of multiple generations. While we honor traditional flavors, we also embrace modern gastronomy by incorporating the latest technologies into our kitchen every year.
Our menu places special emphasis on traditional Hungarian flavors, and we take great pride in our PATAJI PACALPÖRKÖLT (Dunapataj-style tripe stew). This dish is prepared following a recipe passed down through generations, using carefully selected ingredients and authentic seasoning to offer the very best of Hungarian cuisine to both local and international guests—many of whom return to us time and again.
In 2021, we reached a major milestone when, after a renovation, we began welcoming guests year-round starting on March 15. Our indoor dining area accommodates up to 50 guests, with heating in winter and air conditioning in summer. On our terrace—which can be accessed not only from the road but also directly from the beach during summer—we can comfortably seat up to 150 guests.
Beyond gastronomy, the Family Restaurant in Dunapataj also functions as a versatile event venue. In addition to our indoor space and terrace, we also have a 225 m² outdoor event hall, which can seat 120 guests at a time. We host weddings, corporate events, and team-building activities, and during the summer vacation period, the venue transforms into a disco, much to the delight of both vacationers and locals.
